susan.van.hook

Susan Michelle Van Hook’s first loves will always be the Lord Jesus, her husband, and her children, but she is also passionate about her role as teacher of God’s Word to others.

She currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband, Brent, their two sons, Matthew (21) and John David (18), and beloved Labradoodle, Sneaker. Susan currently works as a Physician Assistant in Nashville, Tennessee in Urgent Care. But she took a hiatus for a while from her work as a PA to raise her kids and help serve in ministry alongside her husband, who was a senior pastor in the Nazarene Church for 22 years and is now Executive Director of Shepherd’s Fold Ministries.

During this time of ministry, Susan plunged deeply into God‘s word and God began to call her to also serve Him through writing, speaking and leading compassionate ministries. Susan loves to speak about learning to hear God’s voice in the midst of life’s craziest and life’s most mundane moments - because during a trip to the emergency room or a trip to the grocery store is when we can hear the gentle whispers of God.

The Ladies Retreat has inspired and cultivated a renewed spiritual growth in my relationship with my Heavenly Father. My daughters and I attend the retreat annually. I am encouraged to hear their appreciation of the time set aside to build on their faith through this ministry. The ladies attending the retreat are a diverse group of women who gather together each year to be inspired by God's love for us through worship, devotions, and inspirational messages. Every year we welcome new friends and renew old acquaintances. The speakers are highly motivational as their messages are applicable to our growth as Christian women. - Leacha
